Irfan Wahab Khan – Chairman

Mr Irfan Wahab Khan is a seasoned executive, CEO, and Board Director having background in fintech, telecoms, digital, and consulting. Irfan was a founding member and first employee of Telenor in Pakistan- a company he served as President and CEO for over 7 years before taking wider Portfolio responsibilities in Singapore in 2023. He is the Chairman of easypaisa digital bank– a JV between Ant and Telenor Groups – since 2019 and a board member since 2013.

Furthermore, he is a serving Board Director of CelcomDigi Berhad in Malaysia, Grameenphone in Bangladesh, IMD Board Governance Board Switzerland, and Hunar Foundation in Pakistan.

Irfan has worked at Orange UK, T-Mobile USA, Telcordia Technologies USA and Ericsson in Asia Pacific. He holds a master’s degree in Mobile, Personal and Satellite Communications from the University of Westminster, London, and qualifications in Financial Management from Harvard Business School, Marketing from London Business School, Global CEO Program from IESE/Wharton and Advance Management from INSEAD. He is a Qualified Board Director from IMD and an accredited Senior Director, Singapore Institute of Directors.’

Henning Thronsen – Director

Henning Thronsen is currently working as Director and Head of Project & Corporate Finance, Group Treasury function. He is supporting and controlling all Business Units (BUs) in treasury-related issues including Capital Structure, Financing, Risk Management, Governance, Working Capital Management, restructuring, M&A, and project support etc. In addition to this, Henning serves as a Director at easypaisa digital bank. He is involved with the build-up of Financial Services throughout the Group. He also supports and controls other Group investments like Vimpelcom, Amedia (a Norwegian media group), and various JVs etc.

He has extensive project leadership competence from many treasury related and cross-functional projects within Telenor Group. Henning participated in many Telenor Group Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A ) projects (Treasury representative) and served as a board member in Telenor Eiendom Holding AS (since 2009) (Telenor’s property company). He has more than twenty years’ experience from treasury and finance-related positions in large international corporations. Furthermore, he has served as CFO for five years before joining Telenor and has held various board positions.

Dr. Amjad Waheed – Director

Amjad Waheed is currently working as the Chief Executive Officer of NBP Fund Management Limited and serves as a Director at easypaisa digital bank. Prior to joining NBP Funds, he served as the Head of Equity Funds & Portfolios in the Riyad Bank Asset Management Dept, Saudi Arabia. He holds an MBA, PhD & CFA certification from USA. Amjad has more than 30 years of experience in investment banking positions involving leading teams across various financial organizations.

Zhi Xian Li – Director

Mr. Li joined Ant Group in December 2016, where he is Country Manager for Pakistan and some other emerging markets for local partnership and joint venture management. He is also responsible for Ant Group’s joint venture in easypaisa digital bank. Before joining Ant Group, Mr. Li held various leadership roles at China UnionPay, most recently as General Manager of Africa, setting up the company’s branch offices including in South Africa, Morocco, and Ghana between 2012 and 2016. Prior to that, he also worked in China UnionPay Middle East office and domestic business division. Mr. Li graduated with a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the Ocean University of China.

Douglas Feagin – Director

Mr. Douglas Feagin serves as Senior Vice President for Global Strategic Partnerships and Investments at Ant Group. He joined Ant Group in June 2016 to lead the company’s globalization strategy, overseeing Alipay’s global business development, operations, and marketing activities. Before joining Ant Group, Mr. Feagin worked at Goldman Sachs from August 1994 to May 2016, where he served as a Managing Director from 2004 through 2016. During his time at Goldman Sachs, he maintained a broad set of client relationships across sectors, including banks, specialty finance, FinTech, and insurance in the U.S., Latin America, and Asia.

Mr. Feagin graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in June 1988 and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in June 1994.

Ms. Musharaf Hai

Ms. Musharaf Hai serves as a Director at easypaisa digital bank. She joined Unilever in 1983, and her 23-year career with the organization spanned roles from brand management to country operations. In 2001, she was appointed National Sales Director and later became Chairman & CEO in July of that year, serving in this capacity until September 2006.

From November 2006 to September 2007, Ms. Hai worked with Citigroup as Country Head for Consumer Banking in Pakistan. In March 2008, she joined the L’Oreal Group, the world leader in the beauty business, with the responsibility of establishing and launching L’Oreal’s business in Pakistan. Under her leadership, L’Oreal Pakistan was formed in April 2009. Ms. Hai played a key role in establishing the manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution of L’Oreal brands to reach Pakistani consumers. She recruited and trained a team of young, energetic, highly creative, and entrepreneurial talent. During her tenure, the L’Oreal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline, and L’Oreal Professional brands were launched, covering the full spectrum of beauty and personal care. Ms. Hai’s tenure as CEO and founder of L’Oreal Pakistan concluded in June 2019.

Mr Muhammad Shoaib – Independent Director

Shoaib Yousuf has an impressive academic foundation that supports his extensive career in IT and banking. His qualifications include Master of Business Administration (Computing), Master of Information Systems Security, and Master of Information Technology Management. He has attained four professional certifications: a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). These academic achievements illustrate Shoaib Yousuf’s technical proficiency and his ability to approach IT as well as cybersecurity challenges with both technical and managerial expertise. Shoaib has built a distinguished career over the past two decades, with a primary focus on IT and Cybersecurity systems in the banking and financial sectors. He has performed diverse roles in international organisations such as Boston Consulting Group, Celcom Axiata Berhad, Strasan & Critical Infrastructure Security, Irresistible Ideas, Essential Energy formerly Country Energy), and HSBC Australia, as well as being a lecturer at the University of New South Wales. These roles have consistently involved leadership responsibilities, including IT and Cybersecurity governance, operational risk management, and compliance oversight in international organisations. Shoaib’s professional journey reflects a commitment to integrating cutting-edge IT solutions into the operational frameworks of banking institutions to enhance efficiency, security, and compliance. His hands-on experience with banking IT systems, coupled with his ability to navigate regulatory environments, positions him as an expert in managing the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, and banking operations.

Mr. Jahanzeb Khan – President & CEO

Mr. Jahanzeb is an accomplished executive with over 25 years of global banking experience and expertise in leading organizational transformation. He has demonstrable success in areas such as digital banking, payments, fintech, M&A and business growth across North American and Asian markets. Jahanzeb brings with him a wealth of leadership experience from global blue-chip organizations like JP Morgan Chase & Co., one of the largest global financial services institutions, where he spent twenty years. Recently, he successfully led FINCA Microfinance Bank as the CEO. He has a proven track record in consistently delivering exceptional results by developing high-performance teams, focusing on value drivers, and executing strategy.

Ms. Amna Abbas – Chief Legal Officer, Ethics & Company Secretary

Ms. Amna Abbas serves as the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Company Secretary of the Bank. With 14 years of progressive experience in litigation and legal advisory services, she is a licensed Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Throughout her career, Amna has demonstrated significant success in handling disputes and providing advisory services in various areas, including employment and labor disputes, contractual disputes, corporate compliance, telecommunications matters, and land disputes.

Before joining easypaisa digital bank, Amna was associated with Ahmer Bilal Soofi & Co. as Head of Litigation. In this role, she and her core team managed over 1,000 cases within three years in both High Courts and District Courts across Pakistan. Amna has also been affiliated with the Supreme Court of Pakistan, where she served as a Judicial Law Clerk and Research Associate to the Chief Justice of Pakistan. She is a Barrister of the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, and has completed her LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London, UK.
